The way we see ourselves can have a huge influence on the way we experience life.
If you believe you’re not good enough, not confident enough, or that you always get things wrong, those beliefs can affect the choices you make and the way you respond to situations.
The interesting thing is that we don’t always question these beliefs. We can carry them for years and simply assume that they are true.
But a belief is not necessarily a fact.
Many of the beliefs we have about ourselves are shaped by our experiences, particularly experiences from earlier in life. Something that happened in the past can influence the way we interpret situations in the present.
This is why exploring our beliefs can be so important.
When we begin to recognise the thoughts and beliefs that are holding us back, we can start to look at them differently.
You don’t have to be defined by an old belief.
Sometimes, change starts with asking yourself a simple question:
“Is this really true about me?”
That question alone can be a powerful place to begin.
